This workshop deals with the skill of free and creative writing. Once your child has an intuitive
understanding of language, he or she is encouraged to find an expression of self.
We begin with correct language and the grammatical system of logical writing. We soon see that a personal style
takes over. We watch children’s films and analyze the story and we turn that into writing. We play with our own
vocabulary and find ways to express it. We experiment with style and form and structures of writing. We read out
our writing to the group and ask for critique.
Finally, we take a serious look at composition and understand how to deal with topic, theme, plot, characters,
action, mood and tone, and style. We try our hand at writing composition in a way that we have never done in a
classroom.
We repeat this writing exercise with poetry. |
